Hi guys im new here nice to meet u all...read some of the posts...pretty useful..~

I have seen u guys OC mem to 880!!! the max i can get with RIVATUNER or COOLBITS = 820 with a 412 core (program fails test)

I tried lowering the core but still no luck....n e one know why??? my temps seem find for gpu...im using nv5 and artic silver 5 ...idling around 42 c - 44 c

did u guys use n e other programs to overclock??

i mean i dunno ...my case temp seems pretty cool...always at 25-28 c

And also, is there a way to isolate the bad pipes or i only haf the 4 pipes at a time to deal with? i cant unlock to 16/6 ...severe artifacts even starting up windows...but i was able to get the VS fine.

Im getting pretty decent marks on 03 and 05 but just wonderin how you guys can get up to 880 mem clock!

If theres another program out there to get these higher overclocks? pls share~~

Im using forceware 71.80 drivers....problems with these?

i just got this card so i dunno much of the inside stuff pls help me out~ thanks

um...overclocking is not a guaranteed route. While one person may hit 880 or 900 mem speeds, some other persons 6800 card may only reach 800 or so. Its just luck at some point.

You have to watch out for many things with overclocking and forums.

For one, alot of people will lead you to believe things that are not true. Some people will get something to get to windows at a certain speed, and post that it is prime stable, when in reality it can barely launch the start button. Some might claim their card can do a certain setting, but when they go to bench it or play a game, they are hard locked and reaching for the reset button.

Now that is not always the case, of course some people have better than stock cooling, different paste, better case cooling, etc..This all affects the overclock.

And lastly, as posted above, alot of this is all luck. My 6800 Ultra can do 450/1200, but the one that rolled off the line right after it may only do 425/1150. Luck of the draw is all it is.

In your case, those pipes are locked for a reason, 90% of the time unlocking won't work. Those are cards that failed to perform in some fashion with the pipes enabled. I've always said that if the pipes performed perfect, it wouldnt be a 6800, it would be a 6800GT.

I think the average on the memory is about 800 across the board. I recently had a BFG 6800 OC that did not budge off of the defaults at all ( core and memory ) 350/700 and that was it period. Sold that and picked up a PNY 6800 now running at 361/824 so as the previous poster said YMMV.

For what you're getting that's pretty dam good.

ook thanks for the input guys
yeah i guess im got some good enuff numbers right now breaking in 11k
i'll just keep it at that i guess
