I just called, and you can't get this deal online :(

They should open up some stores on the east coast :brokenheart:

Bay area Fry's had this same deal yesterday. I didn't see it in today's papers but it could still be on sale around here. Pretty hot at that price, even if you run it completely stock.

I couldn't resist picking one up at that price even though it's only a minor upgrade from my 9800XT. But now I'm running a fully unlocked 6800 OC for $149 AR. What a deal. :)

THis is my first time posting on AnandTech, been coming here for years for hot deals.

I just called the Frys in Seattle area and they say they know nothing about this deal or any rebates. Has anyone had any luck on the west coast (north of Bay area)?

Agreed, there are NONE on the east coast... I wish there were, I would have bought one new rather than being the 3rd owner of one. :(

Grrr! Closest Fry's to me are in Indianapolis and Chicago, and I live in the economic graveyard that is the Detroit area. Oh well.

I sure hope that Fry's continues to expand across the country, spanking Rebate Buy, Circuit Shitty, and CompUSSR.

I checked the Wilsonville, OR Fry's last night and the saleperson there was not aware of any deal on this card. We ran it through the computer and it came up at $249. Must be an Indianapolis only deal.

Does anyone know how long this deal at Frys is good for? My folks might be passing by one of their stores Sunday, and if so, I could probably get them to stop in.

WAIT! I just downloaded that rebate form at BFG's site (from the link) and the only rebate I see is a $40 off new-for-old rebate when you purchase the card from Chumbo.com.

Where does this $30 rebate come from ??? Where do you get the form? Does Frys have the form? Is it supposed to be in the card's box?

This deal is long dead. It was a one day sale last Friday in the Bayarea, because of the Fry's 20th anniversary sale. Apparently it was a one day sale on Saturday the 21st in other states. And the rebate form was one that was printed from the cash register at Fry's. Can't get it anywhere else.

Oh well. Just got off the phone with my folks and they weren't going to be taking the route that passes by the Indianapolis store anyway.

Seattle/Renton, Wa, Fry's. One-day only, Monday, May 30. $149.99, in-store price, no rebates, (plus tax, of course.)

The store clerks didn't know about FarCry game, even though it is listed in the ad. The clerks weren't prepared for the 'bundle'. They gave me a regular $19.99 version of FC from their software department, discounted 100%. No FC or other game discounts or vouchers inside the box.

Wow, you got an excellent deal palouse. Even a BFG 6600GT would be a steal at that price. And you really got a BFG 6800 + Fry Cry for $149.99 OTD (+tax)? That is smokin'!

Oh man, I've been waiting for 6800nu's to go on sale too. It's killing me not having a Fry's in the state. I wish I had family up there or something =\

Fry's in the Bay Area had the instant 70 rebate still, but no sign of the 30 mail in rebate. I went ahead and bought the last one I saw. I dunno if I'll return it though since I thought the 30 rebate would be available as well.

Dayyymn... I wish that $149 with no rebates price had been in my Fry's ad today. I would have taken back the same card I bought from them for $179 on Friday and pricematched it down to $149... kept and sent in the $30 MIR from Friday... and got it for $119 AR! :Q Maybe even talked Fry Cry out of them too. :p Ah well. Still hot at $149 for sure.

Doh!

A very close friend went back to Fry's this evening about 15 minutes before the 7 PM close. They still had 6800nu packages on the shelf. Also taped to the shelf was an appology note that said, "...this morning's ad was incorrect. The $149.99 offer does not include a copy of the game, Far Cry...". My friend did get his 6800, though.

I guess I must have been the first to ask about the bundled Far Cry. Or rather, the non-bundled FC. I've never seen the BFG 6800nu advertised on the web without having a bundled game, so it made sense that there would be a game included. The usually uninformed floor sales people did not know about the bundled game, which also did not surprise me. The floor area manager tried to do right by me, though.

I'll call tomorrow during a break to ask if they want their game back.

I didn't get to try unlocking the pipes/vertex. Need to update Riva Tuner, and it was(is) getting late.
