Hey all,

Been reading the forums for a while, but just now finally joined.

Just got a BFG 6800 GT OC, and I'm noticing some weird things going on with the 2D part of the card.

I'm getting some corruption and weird dots on websites with black backgrounds (like HardOCP).

Here's how it happens:

visit the site, start scrolling, suddenly these dots appear.

scroll up and down the page, more dots. if i switch windows to something else and switch back - THE DOTS ARE GONE, but if I scroll around again - they appear AGAIN.

It only happens in a web browser - nothing else. I'm using FireFox, but it also happens on Internet Explorer. I'm running XP SP1.

It's really freaking me out. Here are some pics:

I am not overclocked (other than the factory overclocking on these).

My temp is idling at 65C.

3D performance is perfect - no tearing, artifacts, nothing.

My computer is not overclocked.

I'm running 61.77 and I used Driver Cleaner before installing them.

any ideas? i'm thinking it's the drivers.

see my thread (help!! gefore 6800 gt oc artifacts) , I used to see this all the time-- it got worse and worse steadily until my desktop was full of them. Maybe it's overheat.

hmm.. checking now..

you have the same motherboard as I do.. What's your RAM?

The weird thing is - this ONLY happens in a web browser - nowhere else! And I can refresh the page on the web browser and the dots will disappear - until i scroll again.

And again this only happens on websites with black backgrounds.

My 3D performance is fine.

The temp inside my case is fine (it's at 86.6F currently).

I witnessed the same type of behavior on other graphics cards.. each time is was a heat issue. Call BFG and ask them.

what's weird is that it only happens in a web browser, and only on sites with dark/black backgrounds.
