1. I'm going with SLI
2. I could care less for the X800XL
3. I don't want to spend 1 penny more even less $50 and keep in mind X 2 for 2 Vid Cards and
4. You can't go SLI with X800XL

Let's stick to Nvidia Cards and Good deals, please POST ASAP if you find better deal on BFG or Leadtek. THANKS!

Why not go with eVGA, link. End up being $100 cheaper. These cards will be under $100 when the 2 year warranty craps out.

Thanks! You're right! That's $100 cheaper I didn't even look there since I was locked into BFG (OC out of the box) and Leadtek (name brand) and didn't even consider eVga... but it's eVga......anyone know if they are any good?

$100 is a lot considering there is only 20Mhz difference in the core of each card? Will this make a difference?

I have an eVGA 6800, been running great for 5 months so far.

The 25Mhz shouldnt make that much of a difference. Thats 5% more by the numbers, but will amount to less then that in the real world performance. You could always overclock the eVGAs anyway.

just to let you know sli with 6600GT is silly as it's slower and more expensive then a single 6800GT. Not to mention SLI doesn't work well or doesn't work at all in up to half of games. On top of that you've got the power, noise and heat issues in SLI, especially the 6600GT which generates more heat than a 6800GT (believe it or not it's the hottest card). Not to mention compatiblity and driver issues. Here's one article, but pretty much all reviews point out the lackluster value of the 6600GT SLI proposition:

Spend a little more now and get X800XL, or if you wanna keep the SLI upgrade option, get a single 6800GT and you could upgrade later to be close to state of the art for 2-4 years.

I have this card and it performs great! Best of all it has dual DVI. I cant wait to get my second 2001FP and go dualies! 😀
