Aloha All...

Longtime lunker finally able to contribute something this great forum!

Stumbled across this while looking for a cheap PCI-E card for my secondary PC.

3DFuzion 6200LE 128MB Graphic Card PCI-Express with $25.00 rebate at Frys.com and Buy.com

$34.99 (have to add to cart to see price) @ Frys + shipping
Net price AR = $9.99

Buy.com link

$38.49 @ Buy.com with Free Shipping
Net price AR = $13.49

If you can use Google Checkout - $3.49 shipped AR

Frys link

A few comments:

No VGA, only DVI & S-Video (edit: the product picture on Newegg shows a VGA port, so it may have both VGA & DVI)

Reviews indicate that the fan on this is may be noisy and of course the gaming performance is lacking. But if you're like me and planning to just use this for basic video, it should be fine.

For my fellow Hawaii buyers, add another item to this @ Frys and shipping will be the same or just slightly more than the $19.99 ouch! shipping for this alone. I ordered the Patriot 4gb RAM deal, but the 750 GB PATA Seagate is also a good choice (shipping increases to $21.99 for the combo). Buy.com shipping is outrageous to Hawaii (>$36.00 for the card alone!).

The spec says:

Graphics Resolution
2048 x 1536 @ 85Hz Analog 16.7 Million Colors (32-bit)
1600 x 1200 @ 60Hz Digital 16.7 Million Colors (32-bit)
2048 x 1536 @ 85Hz Maximum Analog
1600 x 1200 @ 60Hz Maximum Digital

Does this mean it can't drive wide-screen monitors (1680x1050) at its native resolution?

Is it a whole $3.50 better?

j/k. But do you know how much better?

actually, I just heard that these things are a pain with turbocache that wastes your memory bandwidth and memory. Can you turn off the turbocache completely?

I'm also wondering about the 1680x1050 question since that's my monitor's only resolution it can display properly.

Dumb question here... Where is the UPC? I pulled out the card, installed it, and looked on the box for the upc, but there was hole there.. (Professionally cut, not with scissors There was a note saying "Cashier: If no UPC is found..." And I can't find the UPC on any of the packaging...
Anyone else find it?

Mine UPC was on the plastic wrap, located right where the hole is. However, the rebate form asks for "Proof of Purchase" printed on the box, not UPC. I plan to send in both.

It's not a dumb question at all.

There are two things to look for. 1) There is a "Proof of Purchase" printed on the side of the box that you can use for the rebate. If I recall correctly, I think that's what I used the last time I bought one of these cards. (I received the rebate without any problems.) 2) The hole you're talking about is a window (pre-fabricated when the box was made) that is supposed to let you see the sticker on the card itself. The UPC code is printed on an adhesive label that is attached to the shrinkwrap over that window. If the shrinkwrap or the sticker has been damaged, the UPC code might be missing.

I hope this helps.

EDIT: txlonghorn beat me to it. It looks like we concur.

Got the card. Tested it out. No go for wide-screen 1680 x 1050. Oh well. I can't use it as the main card for daily use. But, it makes a handy utility card for testing.

*Whew*. You're right. It says it needs the "Proof of Purchase" for the rebate. Reading comp FTW! ;)

Thanks guys!

I was ready to 'pull-the-trigger' on this card, but the 64bit Memory bus makes me feel uncomfortable. I know it won't handle any 'real' games, but 64-bit just rubs me the wrong way.

I did some looking around and found what looks to be a 128bit 256MB GeCube X1050 card for $19.98 shipped (AMIR) from Newegg. I just asked in the Video Card section if it would in fact beat out this 6200LE. If I hear back that it will, I will start up another thread here in the Hot Deals section.

I truly don't think that I am thread crapping. I sincerely hope that I don't come across as hostile or something. Perhaps someone here will be able to tell me if this is worth the 'extra' $7 over the 6200LE.

Also, please realize that the X1050 uses the same RV370 core as the X300, X550, and X600 cards.

Last year I ran a similar card for around 3 months. At the time all I played online was WoW and WolfET, but it played those just fine. I had gone from an x800GTO (16 pipe unlock) to a 6200TC because I sold the card and hadn't found a replacement yet (eventually went with a passively cooled 7900GS) and was gaming... wondering "hey, why does it chug every now and then?" Oh yeah! Just had to reduce settings a bit and those (rather undemanding) games played just fine.

Crysis? Not. Other games? Maybe.

Last time I checked, you can create any resolution you want using standard nVidia drivers. I have 1680x1050 on my laptop but, for some bizzarre reason, didn't have 1280x800. Once I diagnosed the problem, I was able to set up 1280x800 in a few minutes.

Well, the reason for 64-bit memory bus is that they can get away with half the memory/GPU connections, and they can build the card on a half-height PCB. 128-bit would mean they're using a bigger PCB, and the price would go up accordingly.
