BFG 5200FX Ultra GPU Fan Question

Is the fan supposed to go on and off? When I turn my machine on I notice the fan on the video card spin up for about a minute...and then it stops spinning. Is the fan temp sensitive? I have an extreme amount of airflow coming into the side of the case and directly under the card with a slot fan. Could that be causing the fan to stop?

According to the temperature reading you see in the nVidia driver details....it never goes above 44C.

Just curious if the fan should be spinning all the time or not.

The fan will spin down in 2D (mainly Windows). Anything 3D related the fan spins up.

Core 2D spd is lower than the core 3D spd.

You have a Low-End card. You should be gratefull there is a fan on it. It stops because it doesn't need to cool anymore because the chip is cool enough. You have no problems to worry about anyway if the temp never goes above 44 degrees. The fan goes on when it feels the chip is getting to hot.
