BFBC2: Can't Find Servers but Can Join if Friends are Playing

Having a weird problem. Specs are in my sig but I don't think it is a hardware issue. I play BC2 through Steam and now, when I search, I can't find any servers at all. Yes I have checked and double checked my filters, turned them all off, as well as reinstalled. Still no dice. When I try to play instantly it puts me in a server by myself.

The odd thing is, if one of my friends on Steam is playing I'm able to hop in their round and play no problem.

I've looked around the web and found problems that were similar, but not identical (nobody has mentioned still being able to join when a friend is on), and they seemed to have been happening about a year ago before a patch. My version is up to date.

Any suggestions for a fix would be appreciated.

Turn off NAT redirect filtering with your router. I had this problem with pretty much every game I tried to play through steam and doing that fixed it.

Thank you for the suggestion. However, I checked and it is already disabled.
