1920x1080. everything maxed out. 285.62 drivers

This screenshot is the absolute worst it got during my single player gameplay.
1326MB VRAM used
86FPS

I reached a high fps in the 190's at several points with low activity, and the average was roughly 135-140fps.

You'll definitely want at least 1.5GB VRAM on this one

testing at 5760x1080 to come soon...

SPECS: asus maximus iv extreme, 2500k @ 4.8ghz, XSPC rs240 kit, evga gtx580 tri-sli, 128gb m4, 2tb hitachi, 8gb mushkin redline 2133mhz, antec tpq-1200, storm sniper

finally proof that 1GB isn't enough for 1920x1080 maxed out. Well it was kinda silly to speculate that based on a beta anyways...

thanks.

NO thats proof that a gtx580 will use more memory because it has it, not that 1gb is not enough.

WHy else would a gtx560ti beat a 69502gb @ 1080p max settings 4xaa?

This is not a beta benchmark. :)

Well, I don't know if I would claim victory for 1/2fps avg. ;) but the fact that none of the 1GB cards are tanking on minimums tells us something. Minimum fps is where you'd notice insufficient VRAM.

I'm pretty sure a game will fill up as much as the framebuffer as it can regardless.

Explains why Crysis can use more then 1GB of buffer.

Probably runs fine on 1GB cards.

My guess is AMD need to release some new drivers for bf3 with some performance increases, as did nvidia

That's what the 11.10 R3 beta and newest CAPS were for. They have all of the latest tweaks for the retail version of BF3, and the WHQL version of it will be out next week.

lets see performance difference between 2gb and 1gb version of same card and see what we get

Let's see a screenshot comparison and see if the game is actually using the additional VRAM, or if it's just storing it. If not then there should be some situation where the lower memory card goes into swapping to disc or it's irrelevant.

its getting the same frame rate which is not uncommon in some other games. in fact doesn't the gtx560 ti actually beat the 6950 in a couple of games?

AMD has yet to enable multi-threaded rendering(something Dice is a big fan of) in their drivers, and that is keeping their cards from reaching the full potential. I know that they would have to an almost complete driver rewrite, but they owe it to the people who buys their cards.

I agree. If the hardware is capable, then they need to take it from the "too hard file" and do it.

You know what that benchmark corresponds to if there was a fps graph?

20 seconds of the lowest fps, like the dips you see on [H] charts.

Thats what the reviewers did, took a 20s snap of the most intense scene (explosions everywhere, smoke, debris flying, buildings collapsing) in the entire game thus far and called it a performance analysis. No, it's a worst case scenario MINIMUM FPS analysis. The fact that their avg and min fps are similar should give you a hint.
