And do you have to pre-order to get beta on this day?

Who knows. And no, it's open beta. It will be available under Free Games in Origin.

Pre-orders are already in.

The pre-orders are messed up currently, EA servers crashing every 5min, and lots of people are NOT getting in the game becaues the auto-reply email send to them show "null" next to download link. lol

I don't think you will be playing for a couple days till they resolve the issues.

Brother and I have not been able to get in the game for 5 hours now to give you a hint, we also waited 50min to talk to EA live chat..but got disconnected from it. rofl

Its not planned, but like all things, it will prob come to steam in the late game from EA. EA wants to flex its Origin muscle for a bit i assume.
