BF2142, Vista x64 and X-Fi Problem....

I have BF2142, SB X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty with Vista x64 with a Core 2 Quad Q6600, 4GB of Corsair XMS 667MHz RAM, Asus P5B-E mobo and a GeForce 8800 GTX (as per my sig). When I go into audio options in BF2142 I can't select the X-Fi option for some reason. When I do, it says this hardware isn't supported. I've made sure I have the Creative audio console set to game mode too, so that's not the issue. I've also got the latest drivers and patched to everything including BF2142...the 1.25 patch.

I don't get it. I'm dual booting with XP and of course everything is fine but I'm thinking very seriously about getting rid of XP entirely but I want to figure out what's going on. I just built this system and I can't remember if the X-Fi option worked a few days ago or not. All I know is that I certainly can't get it to stay on there now. It's not greyed out or anything, it just says that the X-Fi hardware isn't supported, which isn't true. I'm trying to figure out if anyone else is having this problem too? EAX is enabled and works fine. I've uninstalled and reinstalled BF2142 to no avail. I'm got Alchemy installed, but according to the FAQ, BF2142 uses OpenAL directly so it doesn't need Alchemy.

Anyway, if someone can tell me if the X-Fi mode and Ultra mode doesn't work with BF2142 that will put my mind at ease but I could have sworn that it was working before.

Well the problem is fixed since Creative just released brand new drivers for Vista x64 and I can now use the X-Fi setting and the Ultra setting in both BF2 and BF2142!
