BF2 won't install!

Both the demo and retail versions halt installation and I'm greeted by this error:

Try step 3 from this page since it looks like installshield is crashing.

Hey, thanks, buddy!

The link didn't contain exactly the info I needed, but it gave me a clue as to what the issue was. I had accidentally set "Common Files" folder as hidden, causing the games to crash installation.
