It's even worse, I had no idea that there were cheaters on there.

Hax0r While this may seem harmless, it's very evident and explains a lot during the time I was playing. There was this one tank that no matter how many times I hit with a rocket, it would NOT DIE. I tried everything, I probably respawed 15 times over this one tank, no matter what people did, it would not blow up, after seeing this and taking a screen shot, it was clear that a lot were cheating. There were people who'd kill you in 2 shots, and weren't using a rifle.

BTW, could anybody explain to me how you fall and do a body roll as well?

umm, you lost me, but what are you saying about this screenshot?

is that some kind of radar cheat or something? where did the helos and jets come from on karkand? lol

Exactly! There weren't any yet this kid was 'reporting' enemy helos and jets... Which proves the point that there is definately cheating, this was blatantly obvious while the invincible tank wasn't as it's difficult to prove something can't be destroyed...

So I'm guessing you've never pulled the joke where you report a boat in the middle of the desert? Ok, well anyways, you can manually flag any type of vehicle you want through the menu system and it will show up. Yes, there aren't 3 helicopters and 2 jets on karkand, no biggy.

its been awhile since i played but you could report different things like jets and tanks. but i thought if you didn't actually see them, it put it up as a question mark? or is that just with the enemy sighted report?

after looking at the screenshot again, he does say hostile chopper spotted. so i guess it does work that way. no cheats at all there buddy.

It shows a question mark when you try to automatically target an enemy and flag it but you miss. IE if you are trying to auto target a sniper on a roof but you keep getting "enemy sighted!" question marks.

You can MANUALLY flag a boat in the middle of a desert though by using the radial menus to select exact what you are seeing.

I think you need to press and hold Q to bring up the comm rose menu and then press and hold the right mouse button over "Spotted" and a little sub menu will show up allowing you to pick everything from Boat to Sniper to Jet etc..

I love people like this... they get owned and they cry hack or cheat... just because you dont know some of the game mechanics, doesn't mean people are cheating or hacking.

Yeah that's usually the case. I'm not afraid to call cheater when it is glaringly obvious but in my experience playing BF2 I have not ran into anything suspicious, and I play alot.

Damn... Sure did take a while for someone like you to come along, huh ?

I knew it was coming, so I had my fire suit on from the beginning :D

...but look how many people agreed with me?

58 posts total...

56 saying they agree with me (to a point)

2 saying I got owned...

Not to shabby, huh ?

:D

Lol, considering that I've played CS, CS:S and other such games where hacking is extremely out of control (well not so much in CS:S if at all) I know when one is hacking. Considering that the guy had over 100 kills with that tank with a bunch of people trying to destroy it, I'd hardly call that not cheating. I'd say out of all the time I've played BF2, about 5 times have I seen hacking, 3 of those times I didn't realize it till later.. But the thing with the tank was with out a doubt hacking.

I've played BF2 a lot and have yet to see anyone hacking or cheating. Some people are just really really good. My buddy flys a helicopter like there is no tommorrow and can easily rake in 100 points firing missiles. It's amazing. All with a $20 joystick from walmart.

Tanks are one of my favorite vehicles, and I can easily rake in 100+ kills on a good round depending on how my team helps me and how me commander drops supply crates near me. If you don't think of the tank like some invicnible object and ram it straight into a group of enemy infantry trying to cap a flag then you can easily rake in the kills too. You'd probably accuse me of cheating the way I avoid getting killed in a tank.

I certainly didn't agree with you. Still don't get why the hell your thread summary says hackers and cheaters ruined it yet your post has nothing to do with hacking or cheating. Your rebuttal made little sense. And people who have barely played the game or don't play it somehow have so much to say about the game. I don't see why BF2 was any better before. There was more bugs and exploits possible back then. Most of the crap you see is people who are really good or are just exploiting the game mechanics. The large-scale and open part of BF2 just sort of makes a lot more frustrations than a game like CS:S (not that BF2 is as polished as CS:S, it could definitely be done better, but overall it's a good and fun game).

It's people who think this way and use every exploit to basically make it impossible for anyone to do a damn thing that makes the game not fun.

There's such a thing as giving someone a fighting chance. I for one don't find it fun to camp a spawn point with some artilery just to get easy kills. I prefer to actually work somewhat.

My biggest gripe, all the way back from BF1942 is that everyone seems to sit right at the spawn point of a vehicle and wait. Then when they get it they crash in 10seconds, or they just spin in a circle trying to do doughnuts. What a waste of time.

I don't know if it's me but I've been flying/practicing flying with the mouse so much, I'm not even sure if the joystick is better or not. I've had a joystick this whole time but I was too lazy to get it out, so I finally get it out yet I'm seemingly worse with the joystick than with the mouse, I guess the joystick needs practice too. While I did practice with the joystick and it was seemingly easy, I'm still better at it with the mouse. Go figure, considering that when I first played, I just shook my head questioning HTF flying with a mouse is even possible..

Just like in every other FPS game, it has always been a function of finding a good server. If you find a good server, then you don't see things like that.

If you play bad servers, then you see things like that all the time. I'm sure there are plenty of CS:S servers that make you want to throw a brick through your monitor. That doesn't mean CS:S is garbage, it means those servers are garbage.

Here, here! I can honestly say I've never experienced any of these probelms.

lol, i still bunny hop because it's in the game, it's annoying, and it works. if it works, then it should be used.

btw, ya, you can still bunny hop in 1.3, but there's a small trick to it to do it.

well, i can see why he can be upset about it, but again, if there's an exploit within the game mechanics, and is legal to use (w/o 3rd party hacks, etc..), then I'll use it to the max to inflict as much advantage to me as possible.

exactly my point. Back in my COD UO days, our clan ran across a lot of these types of whiners. Tank positioning, shooting shells across the map at an exact angle hitting bunkers/spawn area... guess what, its war. Same here. Don't be so quick to raise the cheating or hacking flag. FRAPS it and provide proof.

stuff that people really hate me for:

still bunny hopping medic (against majority of snipers, i'd do this, get near, and kill them while holding/dropping medpacks as i get near. people get so pissed)... even in 1.3

carrier/spawn rape...i mean, extreme carrier/spawn rapes (50+ kills/round w/ 0 to around 5 deaths) w/ jet (see stats)

jet ramming. I only do this when needed (no ammo, about to die, airfield is taken by enemy, or when my team really needs that tank/heli taken out badly). But it's very effective. I of course bail right before ramming, except into heli's. When I see an enemy attack heli owning one of my team's spawn point, I'll ram him for sure; saves about 10-20deaths/tickets for my team. I also do this to tanks, but I bail right before jet hits the tank. I don't get creditted for the kill on most occasions, but it's a quick relief for teammates.

I SUCK @ groundpound because i die a lot, lol. I get in spurts where i'd kill 5-10 in a row and such, but I always die in spurts too, hah. That's why I hate groundpounding, and avoid it like a plague.

I can see how people can call others cheaters because they'll shoot other people, and the other person will get "lucky" by turning around, and kill you. That's not cheating. it happens a lot, and it happens to the best of 'em.

Yes it's part of the game when you die right when you spawn. no one's cheating. From my experience, this game has the lowest occurance of hackers of any game I've ever played.

Talk about foot in mouth....

I was playing last night and saw my first case of "total BS gameplay"

My squad leader was special forces on Strike and suddenly I see him lay down some c4 and blow himself up. I see him do it twice and just figure he's an idiot. Then I die and spawn on him and find myself on the roof of a building with no ladder. What he was doing was blowing himself into the air and then parachuting to the top of unreachable buildings. Total crap. I left the server since that type of game play isn't fun.

To all the bunny hoppers and dolphin divers.....drop dead. You're a jackass.
