BF2: Special Forces w/ 9700 NP modded to Pro?

I've had BF2 working decently on my 9700np modded to 9700pro since BF2 launched. Since I've bought Special Forces, I can't get it to work. I get a black screen. I've upgraded to the latest ATI drivers and confirmed directx 9.0c and also did the full removal anc clean install with removing the /mydocuments/bf2 dirs.

Is there something I'm missing?

SF runs like feces on my 7800 GT. BF2 didnt run perfect, but it was a good 50-60 fps most of the time. This new patch increase hitching, and kills the fps. I probably get about 20-30 fps average at 1600-1200 4xAF 0xAA on a 64 person server. The coding quality just keeps getting worse. I'm on a 2.4 ghz winchester with 2 gb of ram.
