Skip Intro Movies
To skip the intro movies when you load up Battlefield 2, delete the Dice, EA, Intro, and Legal Bink Video files from your EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Movies folder.

Anyone else find that this doesn't really work? I mean, when I start the screen is all blank because the videos are now gone, but I still have to wait the same amount of time (pressing keys made no difference) before the menu appears.

Btw I've updated to 1.03, so I'm wondering if EA has sneaked in a "forced timer" that lasts the entire intro duration just to defeat this solution. :frown:

Its the menu system loading. I find after deleting the movies, it still takes some time to load but way less then dealing with all the videos.

yep. still a little delay but not as much as if you had to watch the videos.

Same here, start the game and wait at a black screen for a bit.

This started after I patched to 1.03. previously I could get into a game in about 60-90 seconds, now it takes 2-3 minutes.

But overall i love the game and i don't care :)

wow.. 2-3 minutes! Thats nuts. I get impatient if I wait more than 45 seconds.
Are you low on memory or is you hard drive extremely fraged?

actually let me check tonight. I'll rephrase that, it "feels" like 2-3 minutes :)

I'll have to time it to actually see. Normally I'm the first person into every game though, so actually it probably isn't that long.

It's great to be the first one to any choppers/tanks :-D

I've got a 3.2 Ghz P4, 2 GB 533mhz DDR2 and a 6800 GT.

If you have to wait 2-3 minutes for the menus to load with that system then something is seriously wrong :D
