I uninstalled BF2:SF about 3 weeks ago because I thought it was causing connection problems. It turns it was actually just Comcast acting up. So I reinstalled this, created a new character to get a fresh start and I'm so blown away how much more fun it is that vanilla BF2.
I hardly ever played the Assault class before this now I'm hooked like crazy. My first unlock was the G3 and I have such a riot with Assault. You get a G3, regular nades, 4 flashbangs and a sweet grappling hook. (I really prefer the regular nades over a launcher). You talk about a nice variety of tools to work with. I can't even stand playing vanilla now especially since you have to use the F2000 to get flashbangs else you get that 1 uber smoke grenade *groan*. Plus I really miss my grappling hook, it gives the Assault class a lot of spice in BF2:SF.
However, I'm worried. There's only 60 servers that show up on my list when I do an update. I get the feeling most of the BF2 population is stuck on vanilla and probably forever playing Karkand where they can spam grenades, not talk to their squad and use no strategy whatsoever.
