The more clicks the better. You have better control if you stay in the center box.

I find it easiest to anticipate the shot, or aim in front of the target. The less clicking you do the better. I'm not too good at air to air though, some people really have a knack for it.

I had typed up a pretty detailed response but my connection pooped out. Basically just keep adjusting the missles trajectory by clicking on your target while the missile is in the air.

Use the Cobra at Kubra Dam to practice. Fly over and land on top of the dam facing towards the MEC's main base. Practice hitting the helos, jet in the hangar, and commander assets.

im pretty naff at Air to ground, usually clicking to early to guide it down into the enemy.... but Air to Air i seem to be good at...specially with other helo's. usually get the pilot to get the helo perpendicular to the travel of the target, and just aim in front of him, usually i aim too far and all i have to do is click to the right a few times and bam....black hawk full of men = dead

also.... i find that when shooting at boats/tanks aiming above the target actually makes it easier........ aim above, fire so that its kinda traveling parallel to the ground, then just you approach your target, click down and 9/10 times it hits.

h.o. I've been using the gunner in the helicopter for a while, you click once at the target and you hit it, can you adjust it in the air after the first click?

If you have a good pilot you can get a serious amount of armor kills with the TV, especially when you've deprived the other team of any air support.

another tip most people don't know is that when shooting TVs into white clouds (dragon valley especially), or into the sun where u can't see ur xhair... you can hit tab after you released your tv guide. This lets you see your xhair. It does this because when you bring up the scoreboard by hitting tab, it's used as a background on your screen instead of the white clouds. :)

edit: here's a video of a guy that's crazy good at solo chopper.

also find a pilot that will line up shots for you. quite often pilots only care about firing their own missiles. they'd rather shoot 14-28 hellfires at a blackhawk trying to shoot it down than to let 1 TV missile take it out.

Yeah it sucks being stuck with a team who have no pilots and don't know how to use stingers facing a team with pro pilots especially in the MEC chopper which chews up infantry and armor like there's no tomorrow

A couple things about that video:

1) as far as the solo infantry stuff, that guy has to be playing a total group of n00bs
2) The tv stuff he is doing solo is pretty sweet, but I'd like to go against him with my pilot
3) The video is of pre-patched BF2 - TV guided missile does not have the same range or ability to move that much now since they nerf'd it

I was taking a look at that video.. why are the TV missiles so slow there? when I play the TV missile is so frickin fast there's barely enough time to click to change its direction

He plays for one of the best Euro clans in BF2 (and top 5 in the World). Alot of the footage was taken from actual matches vs some very respectable Euro teams.

http://bf2.worldtournament.net/
His clan, Code7 is 2/5 teams left in BF2 World Tourny, and the only Euro team left.

pm me on xfire if u ever wanna 2v2 helo :)

Does anyone else notice the TV missile jam up sometimes?

Just yesterday for example, I was gunner for a guy in cobra. I fire tv missile and blow up a tank, then switch tog uns and start shooting at infantry for about 20 seconds, then an APC comes by. I switch back to TV missiles, prepare my shot and CLICK... nothing... CLICK CLICK CLICK... nothing is happening. TV missile is not firing....

Some kind of bug?

later after switching back to guns and then to tv missile again I was able to fire more

edit: and I definitely had more tv missiles... I only fired that one missile on the tank so far
