BF2 Peeps - Are you experiencing this too...

lately it seems that the ranked servers are overworked. i mean i have a ping of less than 50 to them, my rig in sig playing at 1280x1024 with my machine staying ~980MB total usage, but i still am getting hiccups during gameplay, badly. i know my current rig is a conservative 40fps, probably more like 60+

this was happening on my P4 rig too so i know it is not related to my new build.

i usually play on 64 player maps with at leat 50 others and everybody's ping is less than 75. it seems to happen on any map.

are the people that sell the ranked servers just pushing them too hard?

just this past weekend the 4 other guys i normally have in my squad tried to get together for our late game night. we hooked up on teamspeak and went through about 10 different servers all of which were experiencing the problem i am talking about here, to the point of frustration that we just quit playing. their rigs are similiar to mine, i would say i have the fastest rig, but they adjust their graphics accordingly, so our rigs are not the problems.

are there any certain ranked servers you guys play on that can actually handle gaming without these issues?

bf2 is fun game, but it is definately a online game....as you know

i think 1280x1024 is a bit too high.. we probably need more ram or better GPU..
as u can see in my sig.. my system ain't a slow turtle either.. but i gave up on playing anything higher than 800x600 due to the hiccups..

edit: maybe i misunderstood ur prob... u saying it's the lag issues?

my ping is low that it what i don't understand. and this has happend even with lower resolutions. i have my machine configured so that it doesn't hit the pagefile often, ~980MB total usage, not the game but complete machine.

i would think if it was lag then my ping would be high, but i could be wrong....

yea.. i dont think hiccups are solely depended upon ur ping... it takes yours and server's connection to play... i actually experience some "laggy" times when my ping is 30-40ish..

it is just becoming too common....it gets quite irritating and at least the guys i game with are in the same valley, within 50MI of each other and it happens to them on the same servers at the same time...just trying to figure out what the problem is
