I have a problem and want to know if anyone knows how to resolve it without creating a new account from BF2. I have 3 email accounts and only one allowed me to signup with a BF2 online account. The only reason I believe was it was a Gamespy account and I was able to get my password sent to me. I read that if you change you gamespy nickname it should change it on BF2. Well it didn?t. I logon with my fullname and password. The funny part is that Gamespy and BF2 Name in stats is my new nickname. Anyone know how I can sync these up?

Try <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=8960&p_created=1118856880&p_sid=mXbW*mZh&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MiZwX3Byb2RzPTcsMTM4OCwxMDAzJnBfY2F0cz0mcF9wdj0zLjEwMDMmcF9jdj0mcF9wYWdlPTEmcF9zZWFyY2hfdGV4dD1lbWFpbCBuaWNrbmFtZQ**&p_li=&p_topview=1">http://support.ea.com... </a>

Question
Why are there errors when creating an online multiplayer account?

Answer
For Battlefield 2, a pre-existing GameSpyID account may impact your attempts to register the account. In order to avoid any conflicts make sure to follow the guidelines below.

Use the Retrieve Account tab instead of the Create Account tab when using a pre-existing account.
If you use the same email address that you have linked to your GameSpyID, use the same password as well.
If you use the same nickname as an existing GameSpyID, it must be a case sensitive match, otherwise you may create a new nickname that will be linked to your account.
You may also create a new account with a different email address.
If you have forgotten your GameSpyID password you can request it through the game by clicking on the "Forgot password" link on the login screen.

These steps to retrieve an account will only work with GameSpy Accounts created for Battlefield 2, not for an older GameSpyID used with other titles.

Thanks.

The problem is EA has a Database and Gamespy has one two. Both have email and password. The key between them is email. On Gamespy I can change my nick, but on Bf2 I can't. So what ever my nick was when I created the BF2 account, myname, it's stuck with that even though I've changed my Nickname with Gamespy.

If someone knows how to change this please let me know.

If I were you, I'd contact EA since it's an account sync issue.

Looking at this article on EA's support site, I think you'll have to change your BF2 nickname (which means you'd lose any accumulated rank). An excerpt: "There is no way to change your nickname or merge accounts." If that's the case, I'd do it now to minimize what you lose.

Good Luck
