BF2 is the bane of sanity, it causes violence in our time

Having endured the ranked servers untill I made lance corpral and unlocked my street sweeper. I've discovered an unranked server out of chicago with the close in street fighting 24hours a day with frendly fire off no less. Mindless mayhem? glad you asked. I can actually get tired of this and look to a more normal server and join a squad or some silly stuff like that. With 2 gigs of ram most of my problems are solved, every few hours I'll get kicked to desktop or rebooted but for the most part its just blood and gore and viends in my teeth for as long as I can take it. Just wanted to share. What are your thoughts?

Do you hear a banshee scream like sound over your headphones as your screen turns black followed by a reset? I get that and the crash to desktop, usually at the end of a map.

I dislike ranking systems in games, so i prefer the non ranked servers. Soon you find out you play a game for a higher rank rather than for fun. Same with that PvP honor system in WoW.

Agreed, loads much faster since i went from 1 gig > 2 gig



I strongly dislike the people on the pub servers. They will stand on top of your vehical (and not get in it with you, they want to drive it) (way too easy to run people over in this game) and spam for you to get out and will not budge no matter how long you wait and continue to spam it, when you finally just drive off, they die and punish you for TK. People really want vehicals, change in strategy from the old way. Shooting your teamy before he gets into vehical/aircraft. Another thing i see people do is go out of the way to run over a fellow teamies' mine just so they can tk punish him, i mean.... what is the point of doing that?

I played the original BF (1942) series for 3 years I know exactly how that is Shadenfro.. It's terrible because its reunited NOT JUST all the smacktards from 42 but CSS UT2004, COD, etc etc. to combine one smacktard intervention..

People shooting you in the foot for poops n giggles, people camping bases with tanks, people taking off with aircraft and crashing them within the first 30 seconds.. i've experienced it all

I do like the unofficial ranking like BFtracks and all, but an official one that determines what kind of weapons you can get is stupid.. reminds me too much of CSS .. Hey wanna get a MF49? too bad! you gotta have 5k$ gg :x

Its the worst of all because usually

1) they are one of the worst players that round
2) like doing stupid stuff like talking to you in admin thinking you dont know who they are
3) then kicking you every time you try to rejoin with stupid messages
4) denying everything when you post in their forums .. or better yet deleteing your message

Played BF1942 since its release and the DesertCombat mod since its release. Yep, people remain the same, but their "methods" are now different.

Was on one today as a matter of fact. He stated that he wanted to have a ground war and that no one was to get into a vehical or turn a flag. Oddly enough when he stated this, the opposite teams flags were counting down. I got booted rather quickly for playing the game by standard STA rules.

Yeah I started playing BF 3 months or so after it came out, I never really got into DC though.. I tried it in earlier versions and due to re formating lost it and was too lazy to download until like 2 months before DCFinal.. still was laggy on this old system with slow internet.. and then DCF comes out so I get that too and again lol ..

I really liked the original Mortars from DC .. was like my favorite part lol .. then they modded them so people would stop hacking into the boxcarts on Stalingrad and probably 1000 other walls .. =/

I also remember and loved in 1.2 and 1.3 vanilla you could blow your self into the air with Det Packs.. MAN that was fun.. So many good memories of that ..

So many perfect scenarios ..

Coral Sea. New game. Everyone wants the Zero.. Plant your C4, back up, and watch people fly into the water as you get spammed with like 8 WTFs lol

Meh.. Their is only a few times when I follow those specific admin-given rules schaden..

1) there is less than 12 people or so. 5 or 6 or 7 of the people want to knife, and their is an admin to ENFORCE this .. If there is no admin I just shoot them because its what will happen to you (unless im with friends)
2) its a tight infantry map.. again less than 20 people are playing, everyone hates tanks, lets not use tanks.

Admin tip-- never try starting up a "new scenario" of gameplay on a packed server.. its destined to fail

Started as: Schadenfroh (game launch till about a month or two into it)
Joined a clan that i had played with for about a year and became Schadenfroh[F8S]
Then i simplified it to Shad[F8S] a few months later and i have used it ever since

We competed in several leagues, mainly STA (dropped this league about a week ago) and OGL (early), we are now solely focusing on BF2.

ahh.. I've been in [WoR] with BiggyTim, Slade, Deliverer, and then I went to Global Hunters, Then to 5 Stars, and finally Extensive Retribution where I remain idleing for now until I upgrade my computer..

I've competed in OGL, CAL, and TWL throughout those clans, but my current clan Xret focuses on just TWL right now I think, but im not sure if it does CAL either lol .. havent been checking those forums much lately..

We have a server or two, I dont know the name of them off the top of my head but you could get the info at www.xretclan.com if you wanted to play or scrim against us some time (although I wont be there till like September )

This game is SO much better on LAN. I don't even play it anymore unless it's on LAN because it's hard to find good servers with people who actually communicate, use squads, and have a decent commander. Not to mention some servers run like absolute sh!t regardless of your ping.

I have a blast with this game, but sadly, on public servers, I never hear any chatter on VOIP anymore. Teamplay has fallen by the wayside to some degree.

I just find myself going on killing sprees with vehicles while I'm capping and recapping flags. If I'm squad leader, I will give orders and go along with the Commander.
