BF2: Guide to Logging into your account MUCH faster

No idea if this has been posted, but this is how to log into your BF2 account faster. This procedure basically just clears your BF2 history/favorites. My time to login went from like 15secs, to 5.

1. Goto /My Documents/"your user name"/Battlefield 2/Profiles/0001

2. Open "General.con" with Notepad

3. Delete any lines containing:
addServerHistory
addFavouriteServer

4. Load up BF2, see the difference, then come back here and tell me how much u love me 🙂

it only takes me like 2 seconds to logon..... no mods needed, and my favorites are in tact.... fix your computer

On a related note, does anyone know if anything can be done about those stupid intro videos? I fvcking hate EA and their damn required intro every time. If my login time was cut down with this fix, and those two intro videos were replaced with .5 seconds of blank screen, I could actually get into their sh*tty server browser fairly quickly!

Just delete everything in your Battlefield 2/mods/bf2/movies folder EXCEPT menu_loggedin and menu

why do that when you can just edit your shortcut....


C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +restart 1



add +restart 1 to the shortcut target

So you don't have to waste any hard drive space on EA's intro movies. But either way both ways work 🙂
