BF2 Freezes Comp

i just installed BF2 and i went online and got the newest patch before playing it and when i click on the icon to start it the logo appears then my comp freezes no mouse or keyboard everything stops. ive restarted the comp twice and it still wont do anything.

i had that happen to me in BF42 and i was becasue it wasnt allowed in my firewall settings, check to make sure its an allowed process.

its permitted on all ports ............im getting majorly frusterated with this EA is no help what so ever :disgust:

EDIT: just uninstalled and reinstalled bf2 and same thing happens. i uninstalled my gfx driver and installed the enwest one and no dice. tried turning off the firewall completely and nothing. looked online at EA's site and there about as helpful as asking my pairents........and thats bad

Do you have your refresh rates locked?
The game will try to start with a 60hz refresh rate, if you have it locked higher it will not start at first.

You could also try turning off the movies, find the folder:

...\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Movies

and rename it to "Movies_off"

That way it won't play the logo movies at the beginning and will instead go right to the game.
