Looks like Gamespot will have it first, as usual. They made my heart stop for a second when they said "BATTLEFIELD 2 DEMO" and then in smaller letters below "Watch coverage of the much anticipated upcoming demo"

I don't see why... I have no doubt I'll be able to run it on my 3000+, 1GB RAM, 9700 pro @ 1024x768 at medium or high settings. We'll find out "soon".

Read the Gamespot preview, they ran it on a system like yours and it was fine.

Read the Gamespot preview, they ran it on a system like yours and it was fine.

Yeah, they were even running it on "high" settings, but they did claim to have more than 1GB of RAM...so you might want to add a little if the game slows up too much for you.

Blah, stupid gamespot. This is just their evil scheme to get people to subscribe to their service. I won't be worried anyways, because I'm guessing there won't be too many servers running for GSC subscribers. Not until the riffraff like me get our hands on it.

We've now heard that the demo will not required any form of paid subscription to Gamespot. When ready, the demo will first be available from here.

Apologies for the confusion regarding when and where the demo will be available, however this news should be treated as "most accurate" at time of writing.

Should any further changes occur I will update this post accordingly.

next post they say that you will not have to be a gamespot subscriber to get it

It will be free, this is the first place they say it will be.

Dude it will RUN on that system. It's just a matter of what resolution and video options you'll have to use and how long you'll have to wait for levels to load. If it doesn't even work on an AXP @2000 + 768 megs + FX5200 they won't sell many copies of the game.

I think you people are overly freaking out about what hardware it will take to run the game adequately. Calm down, wait for it to come out and then worry about hardware requirements.
