BF2 demo anything close to the real game?

Yes and no; it is the game, but the full thing has a far wider variety of maps(including some that really push the urban combat idea), and the game plays differently when you're working against a ticket limit instead of a time limit.

The demo gives a great view of the game, but I got bored of the demo fast. Once you start playing the other levels is when you get really involved. The gameplay changes a lot when you're fighting for your rank and earning medals. I highly recommend this game.

Yes. Even though it's only the demo you can experience many of the same bugs that are in the full version.
