BF2 demo and my new XFX 7800 GT issue. HELP!

Gone is my x800xl and here comes the newly installed XFX 7800 GT. Use latest driver 81.95 and 3dmark05 produced a 6847 score (my previuos x800xl yielded 5142 at stock speed) which I think is a bit low? I've not yet o/c'ed this 7800 gt whatsoever, BTW.

Anyway played HL2:LC,Far Cry, FEAR, FS2004, etc seemed fine thus far. However when clicked on BF2 icon (previously known worked fine with the x800xl) screen when dark for a second or two as if it seems to get started then it returns back to desktop screen. I tried it few more times (includinng reboot and run game from its installed folder) with no luck. I'm not too fond of an EA games fanboy myself; I'm just using the BF2 more or less for benchmarking my video card. Any idea what could hane gone awry here? PLS HELP!

might have to reinstall the game as the registry settings tell it to look for your former card

Is there anyway possible to edit the game config to make that change?

your P4 is the culprit of the low 3d mark score.....and yes at 6-7000+ scores cpu does play apart in 3DM 05.

and well BF2 is just broke full stop.....i applied the latest patch (which might aliviate your problem possibly? might reset a couple of things in the game perhaps?) but now the login screen is just grey, and it wont actually login, prefering to lock up instead

EA are the only people i know who release a game full of holes, then proceed to minigun the game further with each patch.
