O have the DVD version of BF2 that I just picked up today. My computer reads the disk just fine and I installed the game with no problems. When I double click on the BF2 icon to play the game I get an error saying "please insert the game installer cd and try again" as if it cna not see the disk in the drive. I have the most recent patch for the game. Any ideas as to how I can fix this?

Your drive might not be compatible with the copy proection.

Here's a solution, not directly to your problem but it should get you playing.

game copy world . com

look for the BF2 nodvd mini image that works with daemontools.

Download the mini-image here.

Mount it with Daemon tools. (You'll have to use a different driver name though).

Maybe I should just make a thread for this /w instructions?

try to bring it back to the store, just tell them that it dont work you should have no problem swapping it out for the same thing...well maybe but it is worth it to try...I think...I dont know but I had the same problem with chaos theory and I went back to the store and had "0" problems swapping for another copy.
good luck

I actually went back to best buy and tried to exchange it for the CD version because I have heard that the DVD has some bugs...which is what I am experiencing, and they would not exchange it. They said that once its open, it cant be exchanged. Which is bs cus once I got home I realized that on the back of hte recipt it can be exchanged for the same thing even when opened. So I will go back and do that, but I did go to game copy world and get no dvd thing working.
