Bf2 and sound card prob

hey guys i have a sound blaster live 24 bit. what should my settings be in BF2? when i set it to harware the sound gets weird( the beeps get really loud when clicking and sound skips at times) but when its set to software it sounds good. Anyone know what it should be? it makes sense for it to be set to hardware. Anyone know of this problem?

hook that hell to an x-fi and you will notice 0% in performance loss with all the sound capabilities turned to MAX

otherwise, if you still wanna use that cheap soundcard, just stick the settings on software mode and medium quality, it will hog CPU resources, thus decreased framerates.
