So i built a new computer with a 7800gtx and my bf2 frame rates, atleast i consider them to be terrible. Looking at reviews on the card my frame rates don't even come close at the lowest settings.

The game is patched to 1.03. I had built this computer for the purpose of playing bf2 yet i find my old (A64 300 A8V 6600gt 1gb(2x512)) to run the game better. I'll easily hit under 10fps and never anything above 40 if im not staring at a wall when it will rise to 60. Im pretty sure this is the only game where i encounter this, as its not evident in any of the NFS series or HL2/CS:S or Doom, all at the maxium quailty settings.

I can't understand the terrible performance especially with your setup. I mean in reality, its not all that less powerful than my setup. X2 48k +, 2 * 7800 GTX 256mb, + 2 gb Crucial Ballistix Tracer pc4000. I get maybe 15% more performance for 50% more price. You should be smoking.

You might not have sufficient power though. I have a Enermax Libery 620w. Check out your power. Your PSU may be in the tanks. I'd up the voltage to the cpu and the ram. I think your ram can run to about 3 or 3.10. Crank up the FSB and down the multi. Do you have coolbits installed? Change to manula overclock, 3d, and detect optimal freqs. Aply at startup and see what that does. Of course, do this if you have a vague idea of what you are doing.

Don't mean to sound trite, but I have no idea about your knowledge.

well i will try the omega drivers, but im away from home for a few days so it will have to wait till i can play with the system again. Nothing is running too hot. I have a zalmann 92mm cooler over my cpu and modified my stock heatsink with a better fan so gpu temps never go over 65c (compared to 78/80c with stock fan). As your suggestion, Agile, i fail to understand how overclocking my system will aid with the issue i am facing, i have considered restoring my gpu to its stock clocks however.

What i must ask from you, Agile, is what are your performance numbers in BF2, or anyone for that matter than owns a 7800GTX(or comparable card)?
