BF1942 Quiting to Desktop with new 1.3 patch, FIXED

BD231

Lifer
System specs in my Sig, I have an 8RDA and 9700Pro(latest 2.03 N-Vidia drivers and latest Cat 3.0+DX9 drivers). The game was working just fine before the 1.3 patch, but now every time I play the game quits to my desktop at some point durring gameplay or while choosing "replay" after a game has ended, but the computer dose not freeze 😕. Any ideas what could be wrong??

edit: look at my very last post, fix is there if you need it.

My BF1942 also rarely closes itself for no apparent reason while playing. The game simply stops for a seconds, then closes and I'm at my desktop. No error message. This is pretty rare like I said so it isn't a huge annoyance, but it is still a problem.

So I think I've got the same problem you do BD231, hopefully we can get some help because BF1942 rocks.

This might help you solve your problem

There were some guys here a couple days ago having the same problem, you might search some more in this forum to see what you can come up with.

Hope that helps

A fix for game crash

you will also need to go into /mods/bf1942/settings

open the videodefault file and change the 0 to a 1 for the line saying something about allowalrefreshrate because if you are usin some sort of refresh lock it will crash on yah or if your monitor is a old one

this worked for me
I built a new system, so my XP SP1 install was fresh
I am running DirectX 9 and the Catalyst 3.0 drivers (Radeon 9700Pro)
BF1942 would crash to desktop just after splash screen
setting AllowRefreshRate to 1 fixed my problem
thanks man

I'll give this a shot, got this from http://forums.bfnation.net/index.php. I'll stop back and let you all know if this works or not, some people say it's not working.
