BF1942 problems with Hitachi LCD CML174

Hope someone can help me here. I have BF1942 loaded on my machine. It worked fine with my Viewsonic CRT & GeForce4 TI4600 card. Recently, I swapped over to the new Hitachi CML174 LCD now .... it's hosed. I get flashing horizontal bars and sluggish performance eventually resulting in a lockup. Any tips??? I heard earlier that this monitor "does" work with BF1942 but I am at a loss. Help!
