Well I purchased this game a few days ago so I could play it and Desert Combat but that is not happening. For some reason the game does not properly set its internal resolution to my monitor. From the opening video clips to the menu screen it cuts off a good portion of what is supposed to be displayed. I don't have this problem with the UT2K4 demo or CS so otherwise my gaming is going just fine. I tried setting my desktop resolution to the lowest possible and the problem still existed. I thought that the game didn't like my multi-monitor setup perhaps so I disabled the secondary monitor, same thing happened. I've tried all the different video settings in the game with no change. I have downloaded and installed the 1.6 patch so the game is up to date. I also have the latest Catalyst drivers at version 4.2. Here are my system specs:

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz HT
RAM: 512 megabytes of DDR at 400 Mhz
Video: ATi Radeon 9800 Pro (128 meg version)
Sound: Sound Blaster Audigy 2
HD: Seagate 120 gigabyte SATA
DVD: Samsung 16X drive
DVD+RW: NEC 8X
NIC: Intel Pro 100
Primary monitor: Dell 1800FP
Secondary monitor: Dell P780 17" FD Trinitron
OS: Windows XP SP1
DirectX: 9.0b

Basic description of the cutoff is on the initial menu screen I can not see above the first set of buttons along the top and they cut off before the Custom Profile button and quit button. If I move my mouse to that area it vanishes off the screen. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Are you running the game at the same size your desktop is at, or a different resolution?

I had the same problem with game and I also run dual monitor setup. I think it has to do with refresh rate bug BF1942 has. Anyway try this and see if this helps. Go into BF1942 directory and go into mods/bf1942/settings folder. Find VideoDefault.con file and open it with something like Notepad. Find the line which has renderer.allowAllRefreshRates and change the value from 0 to 1 or viseversa. That fixed it for me. Hopefully it will work for you.

Well it was already at 1 so I changed it to zero, problem was fixed right after I did that :). Refresh rate isn't a big deal for my monitor since LCDs are different than CRTs when it comes to that.
