BF1942 main screen fubared with 2001FP.

It looks like the main menu page is stretched beyong the limit of the monitor so I can't see the complete page. Gameplay works fine, it's only the menu.
What can be the problem?

A fresh install from CD works but after upgrading with the latest patches it's all fubared.

ATI 9700Pro, Catalyst 3.8, Win2K SP4.



Any ideas?

Try going into Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Settings and find the VideoDefault.con file. Open it and edit the line

renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1 to render.allowAllRefreshRates 0

Save and close the file and try running the program again.

No, it's exactly what Naustica said. That's a known issue with BF1942 and the Dell 2001FP using DVI. I had the same problem, and that one little change fixed it. It's in a readme or release notes for the game.
