BF1942 + 1.4patch + AA guns + FSAA question

OK bf1942 players, in the new patch the Anti-Aircraft guns are MUCH easier to aim cuz you can see the shots going out. Is anyone else out there having trouble seeing the tracers fly out when you have antialiasing turned on?

I can see them for the first say 20 meters and then after that the AA seems to blend the line into the sky and I'm left in the same pickle as I was in the old patch: trying to predict where some puff of smoke needs to be two seconds from now.

I turned AA off in BF1942 because it made the text illegible for me, was this addressed in the latest patch?

Now you got me wanting to test this. I've always had AA on with BF1942.... no wonder I couldn't hit jack squat!

I can see the tracers just fine. I play at 1280x960 with 4x AA, 4xAF.

My text is pretty mangled though.

UPDATE:
I shut off AA and it hasn't gotten much better. Now I'm even more confused. When I first got the 1.4 patch I was like "wow I can hit stuff now!" and now I can't. I'm going to try some different resolutions. I've fooled with something and I can't figure what it is.

BTW everyone, the text IS fixed with the latest catalysts. If you're looking for a download for em try fileshack. ATI is still trying to serve up drivers on a 486 based server hooked up to 1/2 a T1 I think.
