BF: BC2 "communication failure pnkbstra.exe"

I get kicked out of any server running punkbuster and then get this error message. I updated punkbuster using pbsetup then manually tried updating it by downloading the individual files and saving them to the pb/htm directory. Anyone know a fix for this?

Did you allow it incoming connections through the Windows Firewall?

Trying running BF2 as administrator.

If you are in steam I don't know, but maybe try running steam as admin.

I figured it out like 5 minutes after posting this. Somehow the punkbuster service was not installed. They offer a .exe file that will reinstall the service for you. Thanks!

Yeah, Punkbuster is garbage and I always have to manually install and update it. It doesn't even get rid of the cheaters in the damn game.

Gee, if you're pissed off go buy modern warfare 2 and try the multiplayer
