As I understand it the Geforce 4 series doesn't support pixel shaders 1.4 which is a requirement for Battlefield 2. The Geforce 6s not working for them is probably because of the demo just being buggy, because they do work for other people.

I'd be surprised if even BF1942's requirements were that low. According to this, you need a 8500 or greater, or a Geforce 5 or greater.

I had the same problem with my 6600GT PCI-E. However it doesn't support GF4 cards so for other people with 6600GTs like me (seen many with this problem) make your refresh rate 60hz. Use ReForce or something to make it 60hz or just change your monitor settings and then it should open and run fine.

Damnnnn... BF2 is way beyond its time IMO. The only game on the market that requires a GeForce 5+

Maybe seem a dumb question but did you load the drivers bundled with the game?

The requirements aren't any worse than similar, recent games. I don't see where it requires a Geforce 5 whatever that is anyway?

Didn't at first but am now. It fixes the shadow bug people get without it.
