Well, my case is here! Now I need to find some aluminum bezels to hide the now ugly black lite-on dvd and black plextor cdrw bezels that I worked so hard to get before. :) I notice that so-trickcomputers has several for the lian-li aluminum cases, but how will they match the brushes on the coolermaster? I know coolermaster makes a universal cdrom bezel, but you lose the activity light, headphone jack and volume control, not to mention you get a rather ugly coolermaster logo on the front. Any recommendations? I suppose I could also dye the drives... any pics?

The black version of CM aluminum bezel does not come with big round logo in the middle.
They decided to take it off during production of the black bezel.

I've seen examples of the Lian Li bezels and from some angles they look great, but from others there is a difference

Check this out

scroll down a bit on that page, and you will see what I am talking about

Thanks, Bound_Vortex. I don't think I'll go with those bezels after all. I may hack up the case to make bezels out of the covers, but I'm not sure. Does anyone have a picture of painted drives?

The thing with painting drives silver is that it might be a "different shade" of silver than the case. I guess the best way would be to take a case faceplate cover and go to a paint shop and see which silver paint matches it. I know silver should be one colour, but there are some that are shinier, darker, lighter, etc.

Just out of curiosity, what version of the 201 do you have? Origional, SX1, 2, 3? I'm currently looking at the SX1 (the Intel approved one for 3.2 gHz), and was wondering what you thought about it first hand. I've read some reviews, but not many out there on SX1 specifically, just the origional design. Even if you do not have the SX1, what do you think of the case (I mean its pretty much the same case, only difference is a side mounted fan with duct).

I have the, as newegg calls it, the ATC-201-SX. I was able to see it first hand at CompUSA, though they charge $200 for it. It really feels solid, yet light since it's aluminum. The finish is excellent. I didn't want anything really reflective, just high quality. The front panel totally sold me as a design that is simple but effective. The top blowhole mesh is an added bonus, which I like more than the previous cases having slits cut for the opening.

AFAIK, the SX1 does not have a fan in the side, just a duct to draw cool air to the cpu. I may eventually cut a hole in the side of the case if I really want cooling there. I personally think CoolerMaster made the duct ugly with its plastic bezel.

Does anyone have a picture of their case with painted silver drives? I remember seeing a handful of pictures from someone but I can't dig them up for the life of me.

Edit: found a site with a 201 w/painted drives... looks a little off to me.
