I'd like to see a source other than VE3D announcing this. We knew it was in development already but wasn't greenlit from a story a few weeks ago.

beyond fucking awesome! BG&E was one of my favorite modern takes on the classic adventure title. Many compared it to The Legend of Zelda game style, which to me I have no problem with, and that is a style of play that I would love to see featured once again, of course with little tweaks that give it an aura of uniqueness. Aspiring to be similar to the best, and actually having a quality that makes it close to that mark, is an awesome achievement.

Very excited. I knew they'd eventually get around to visiting the BG&E game world once again.

It was very Zelda-esque, and it was also very awesome-esque. BGE needed some help with QA, but other than that, it rocked the world.

exactly what I was saying. I absolutely loved BG&E, because it had that Zelda feel, but also just its own excellence perfectly weaved into it. It had its minor issues, but had fun play, a good story, and was just a great game that just missed out on sales, which is why its taken so long for BG&E2 to even come into the picture. The game had critical appeal, but didn't sell like it should have. I played the Xbox version and was floored by how it looked.

Joystiq has the story too.

Closing out the Ubidays 2008 live conference, CEO Yves Guillemot left the audience with one final teaser: the next project from designer Michel Ancel. While the trailer stopped short of naming its subject, we'd recognize that snout from anywhere. Why that's Uncle Pey'j of course! And look at dear Jade, she's gone and grown her hair out an inch or two.

Haz trailer! GameVideos.com link to teaser trailer.

Wonderful news. I hope the sequel manages to retain the charm and gameplay elements of the original. It's definitely a game that deserves a franchise.

This game was sooooooo boring! WTF is wrong with you people. I have no idea why everyone seems to loves it so much. I just dont get it! It introduced nothing new to the genre, had horrible graphics, the voice acting abviously done by a 3rd grader, trying to break around corners was impossile, the cutescenes were waaay tooo long, the online componant was laggy with random disconnects, the DLC was far too expensive, The camera was abhorent, the waterboat levels had nothing to do with the game, monster closests were everywhere and the story was lame.

:p

Actually, I loved this game and really want the sequel to be officially announced ASAP--I just wanted to be *THAT* guy that always seems to turn up in threads where everyone is happy, celebrating a game and does nothing but piss all over the place to leave his mark.

The first one was so underrated, the atomhereshere and the characters made that game unique hopefully this sequel does it justice.

I think for all the amount I've heard people say it was underrated, I found it overrated. It didn't do much for me. I think I played it for 2-3 hours, then eventually traded it in for a PSP game.

It sounded quirky and I wanted to play it but never got around to it. Was this released on Xbox Originals or anything?

Not yet but it is backwards compatible if you can find it.

I bought this game before the holidays for GC but have yet to play it.

It was ubisoft so I didn't expect much buying it. It was like $11.99 at GS.

Comparing anything to those rayman platformers is high praise in my eyes. Rayman 2 on the dreamcast was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

SECOND THAT!!! On my 36" VVega it looked soooo goooooood, and played like a dream. I never beat it, but I had damn fun with it. One of my favorite DC games, I know it's pretty old today but I bet the graphics would still be decent. What a bad ass game.
