Hezbollah ministers quit Lebanese government

BEIRUT (Reuters) - Five pro-Syrian Shi'ite Muslim ministers from Hezbollah and its ally, the Amal movement, resigned from Lebanon's cabinet on Saturday after the collapse of all-party talks on giving their camp more say in government.

The resignation of all the Shi'ite ministers from the 24-member Western-backed cabinet came two days before it was scheduled to discuss a draft U.N. document setting up a tribunal to try the killers of former Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri.

Many Lebanese blame Syria for Hariri's killing but Damascus denies involvement. Anti-Syrian majority leaders say Hezbollah and its ally want a decisive say in government to block key decisions such as approving the tribunal.

Who would have thought...man I am just amazed....who would have thought?

I don't know why any one would be upset with Hezbollah, after all the present administration is letting them operate freely in the heart of America.:laugh:

Maybe the newly elected democratic congress should add this to their list of investigations.

While it operates mostly as a banquet facility, the Bint Jebail Cultural Center is also used as a frequent meeting place for Hezbollah supporters and a locale for Hezbollah rallies that frequently feature anti-American and anti-Christian hate, not just anti-Semitism. (Despite all that, U.S. Attorney Stephen Murphy III--now a Bush nominee to the U.S. Court of Appeals--is a frequent guest at this Hezbollah club, including last October, when he told its members that the club and the U.S. government had "issues of common interest and concern."
