Correlation != Causation, obviously. Could be an entirely coincidental correlation, due to other factors entirely.

But it fits with what I've found myself thinking about IOC and FIFA officials - for guys involved in sport, they always struck me as people who'd obviously had a _lot_ of expense-account lunches.

Since corruption or moral psychopathy is caused by self hate which creates a vacuum of neediness within, it could also be a side effect of an attempt to self medicate. If you can just eat enough that hole created by a lack of real self love and thus healthy self regulation one can fantasize might be filled. It could also be that many people are easily addicted to metabolizing starch owing to natural cycles of feast and famine we have evolved to store fat that having position power and money alone or in combination make it easy to satisfy. I would say the whole world is trending fat owing to an unhealthy diet. Cold climates also provide lesser sources of fresh greens and a genetic capacity to crave high caloric foods. There was a woman found who died two hundred thousand years ago from eating a lions liver.
