very bad. Criminals like getting guns that hold only 8 rounds and are fairly bulky. And the m-1 carbine can hold a lot of bullets... this makes them bad.
South Korea has a large surplus of these Korean war era rifles that they would like to sell to U.S. collectors... but not so fast!

sorry obama, these are collectibles. Criminals can spend a couple of hundred getting a knock off ak47 and put a 50 round magazine and do what they need to do. And these are a lot more powerful that the pistol caliber m-1 carbines.
I have always wanted an M1 garand to go with my m-1 carbine... these 87,000+ garands would have dropped the price.
