BEWARE! Small Business Server 2003 updates can KILL!

Well... it sure killed our server here at work. The updates corrupted EVERYTHING and we need a total reinstall. BE CAREFUL!

Instead of just spreading FUD why don't you give us some actual information so we can help out anyone else that has SBS. What update was it? Are you using SBS Standard or Premium? Did you open a case up with Microsoft about it?

First, it's not FUD, thank you. Second, it's SBS Standard. The updates are the automatic ones (Service Pack 1) that just came out yesterday/today. I don't know who clicked "YES" for the automatic updates, but something automatic shouldn't do as much damage as it did. The system would not even boot afterwards and we've been all day without computers.

No, it wasn't me. Thankfully I have NOTHING to do with servers or computer repair anymore. Good riddance!

Thankfully the data is backed up, but a full drive image would be nice. Don't know if they had one or not. Since we've been down all day, I doubt it.
