Please try not to use imaginary numbers to defend your way of thinking and that do not apply to this case.

There are 8,927 written reviews of ZZF dating back to the year 2000 (so were talking a 6 year window here not 6 months) on resellerratings.

Given your example of 10,000 out of 1.3million reviews yields a 0.7% of customers with the OOS problem. Using your arbitrary 0.7% number with the 8,927 reviews, one would expect to only see one OOS related complaint per month roughly.

However, going through the first 12 pages of reviews I have counted over 10 complaints on items that were ordered within the last month were the person specifically noted in the complaint where ZZF has sat on orders on items that were OOS even though were marked as in stock without informing the customer.

please realize that when defending my way of thinking, i took an imaginary COMPANY mad imaginary NUMBERS. and really could care less about what other ppl think of their service, ive had great service with ZZF and Newegg.

Please read the first sentence of my previous post. There I stated that I knew your numbers were imaginary.

If you could care less what others think of the service, why post multiple times saying that you hate it when people post about a company's service or other things in that manner?

Your last sentence "I've had great service with ZZF and Newegg" could of been your one and only post to this thread and would of quickly brought your take on the issue to the table in a constructive manner and be done with it rather than a constant barrage of saber-rattling posts that only try to derail the main point of discussion of this thread.

Your point of view has now been covered.

ZZF shipped me two physically damaged hard drives that were in
foam packaging with no marks on it.Obviously damaged before shipping
and they tried to screw me out of a refund.Luckily my credit card company
got my money back.

I'll never buy from them again.

Well, some of the things you mention are common and some are not. I have seen it happen with other companies where it is labelled in stock and is not, and they don't notify you. This used to be fairly common back when websites were not instant reflections of stock quantities and were updated once or twice a day only.

However, to have this happen on a consistent basis is different. It could be that there is no malice intended and they are using some B2B service with their distributor that is simply not functioning properly. Or it could be that they consider something "in stock" if they can get it soon from a known distributor. What they should do is what amazon does, and estimate when it would ship. This would eliminate any quibbling over the term "in stock".

Or it could be that there is some intentional malice involved and someone decided that any popular item should be "in stock" because they are popular, or similar.

All that said, this does not excuse the "order is cancelled" crap they pulled. That is unacceptable.

so if you need it so fast, try B&M

wait, you mean "lug my fat ass to a B&M store"

NEVER!!!!!

yea, ppl with this insane "i gotta have it" attitudes are horrid. especially when there ARE such things as B&M stores...

WTF man. . .miss the point much? They had flagged his laptop as "packaged" as in ready to ship. . .and it WASN'T EVEN IN STOCK! Clearly they did this simply to ensure that he couldn't cancel his order since their policy states that you can't canel an order once it's packed for shipping.

Out of principle because of the poor business ethics demonstrated by ZZF, I'd have ordered the laptop elsewhere too, regardless of how much longer it was going to take. Only I'd have gone one step further and refused delivery on the laptop from ZZF and disputed the charge with my credit card company.

That situation certainly does suck.

Sadly for me, ZZF is usually the only place I can order from because I live in Alaska. Their Free 2nd day air really helps here; every other online place wants to rape me on the s/h. one place wanted me to pay 27.78 s/h for two sticks of RAM! As much as I'd like to order elsewhere, it's insanely expensive for me to do so.

But that being said... the three times I've ordered from ZZF I've not had a problem. Hopefully they can pick up the ball again.

I ordered from ZZF a couple months ago and wasn't pleased with the service. They were slow in shipping and when I inquired via their email form, I never heard back from them. I finally found out my order shipped when it arrived at my doorstep. Their website is horrid and their prices aren't that much better than newegg or mwave. I don't have any problems with UPS so it doesn't bother me that Newegg uses them. Plus I get confirmation emails up the wazzoo from Newegg and their shipping time is outstanding...what's not to love?

The fact that Newegg charges tax in TN. 9.25%.... ouch. 🙁

ZZF and Monarch have had this problem for years.

Their inventory displays are just not as accurate as Newegg's. For ZZF and Monarch "in stock" means probably in stock, or more are expected real soon.
