:| Tried to get these guys to provide a RMA # on a PCMCIA CDRom drive-No such luck- Back a few months ago when HiVal was doing all it's own customer support, they happily with no hassle provided me with a *NEW* wallwart power supply for my CDRom. Now I/O "Magic" (actually the only 'magic' these guys know is the old "bend-over-&-watch-the-dissapearing-salami" trick)won't accept the hand-written receipt I got when I purchased the drive from one of those traveling "Computer Shows" that travel the Fair curcuit through my town that legibly denotes part number & product name/description. First, this has got to be the crappiest external CDrom drive I've ever dealt with: the flimsy case & tray (tiny screws would fall out every few uses), the excessive spin-down time & the intermittent eject mechanism dosen't make me wonder why HiVal has dropped this product from their line. Simply put folks, don't but this poorly designed & manufactured rebadged garbage. Spend the extra couple of bux for the name brand company who won't make you jump through a dozen hoops & a half an hour on hold only to have your RMA denied for some B.S. reason.
