I miss BetterTouchTool on my macbook air machine

(3-finger swipe left/right = switch workspace
custom-per-app:
- one finger + second finger tap on right = move to right tab in chrome
- one finger + second finger tap on left = move to left tab in chrome
- four finger swipe down = close tab in chrome)

is there an app with similar functionality in ubuntu/linux?

the touchpad has at least 3 tap functionality in ubuntu (3finger tap = open in background)

EDIT: touchegg looks a promising utility

not detecting on my 16.04 beta ubuntu build though , wondering if unity is consuming all the 3-4 finger gestures

xSwipe seems to work, but it could drain battery life

trying ginn

patching the synpatics driver using the method above works... better than running xSwipe

(patched synpatics + enabling SwipeThreeLeftButton in synclient + using xdotool/xbindkeys to bind the action "Control-Alt-Tab" to SwipeThreeLeftButton... but it doesn't allow me to configure this per window)

now, trying to see if I can get touchegg or ginn to work with the patched driver
