So, for basically the last four years (less two weeks - I just checked my Amazon order history) I've had an RT-AC66U that couldn't cover the entire house, and I was using an RT-N12 D1 as a range extender that... was... usually not too flaky. So I thought I was all set.
But, interior decorating happened and I needed a high-wall-or-ceiling-mountable, not-black, PoE WAP with an internal antennae. So I replaced the N12 with a TP-Link EAP225 and, just to see what would happen, I turned off the wifi on the AC66U... and wouldn't you know it, I've got a VERY solid signal all over now. Which is pretty impressive, since my local WiFi environment looks like this:
Has WAP tech improved all that much in the last couple years? (It looks like the EAP225 came out this year.) Or are the omni antennas known to work better than the mast style ones? I'm pleasantly surprised, but I'm still a little surprised.
Cheers!
