Finally, while we would not sink to name-calling in the Trumpian manner — or ruefully point out that he failed to spell the congressman’s name correctly (it’s Cummings, not Cumming) — we would tell the most dishonest man to ever occupy the Oval Office, the mocker of war heroes, the gleeful grabber of women’s private parts, the serial bankrupter of businesses, the useful idiot of Vladimir Putin and the guy who insisted there are “good people” among murderous neo-Nazis that he’s still not fooling most Americans into believing he’s even slightly competent in his current post. Or that he possesses a scintilla of integrity. Better to have some vermin living in your neighborhood than to be one.

I truly believe it's time for all Democrat office holders to take off the kid gloves and fight fire with fire, heaping the same level of outright invective on Trump that President Fat Fuck dishes out daily.

I recall that the biggest problem Repub candidates had to face up to in their presidential primary was that Trump would go a whole lot lower than the others would and if they tried to fight him there what they were doing was hopping over a fence into Trump's backyard where Trump was begging and baiting them to do just that. Jeb Bush in particular, as well all the others found out the hard way that when they make promises to their voters in an effort to out-do the ridiculously fantastic ones Trump was willing to make, they end up saying things that no one will believe unless you could sell it in that particular way that Trump did whereby building a border wall and making Mexico pay for it is literally more than doable, it's also a hit with selling himself better than the others could, never mind how ridiculously unbelievable it was for saying it.

The Dems faced the same paradox that the primaried Repub candidates faced with the added bonus of having the Russians giving Trump a nice boost in the social media platform wars.

So I'm thinking if the Dems go toe to toe with Trump on his home turf, they need to attack his fake doctored up street creds and his sordid sorely lacking personality issues where Trump is the most vulnerable rather than on policy issues that Trump is so deft at deflecting and counter-attacking or in his words "fighting back" and they need to do it in a way that Trump's lies can't overcome.

Trump knows and clearly understands that fighting facts and truths with lies, no matter how outlandish they are, works well with the Repub base and those folks who want to hear those lies as confirmation "Ah-Ha! thought so!" moments that stick and stick well in their minds.

Most of all though, Trump has a lock on manipulating people's emotions as good as or better than Hitler ever could. How the Dems can defeat this feature that Trump uses to his great advantage is to me the key to defeating him and his horde of vassals in the legislature who use the same deceptive tactics in their home states.

As far as Trump is concerned, there aren't any truths or facts about running the gov't for, of and by the people that he can't overcome with a flurry of nasty dehumanizing lies that tickles the ears and emotions of his target audience.

Then, growing emotional, he revealed his own connection to the story.

“The president says about congressman Cummings’ district that no human would want to live there,” he said. “You know who did, Mr President? I did. From the day I was brought home from the hospital to the day I left for college. And a lot of people I care about still do.

“There are challenges no doubt. But people are proud of their community. I don’t want to sound self-righteous, but people get up and go to work there, they care for their families there, they love their children who pledge allegiance to the flag just like children do in districts of congressmen who support you, sir. They are Americans too.
