Any other fans out there? They used to be "huge" in the late 90's I sure miss their music a lot. There last cd was not great but decent, if they are ever in your area go check them out, their concerts are fairly inexpensive.

Songs to check out:

Desperatly Wanting
Good
Rosalia
Porcelain
King of New Olreans
Return of the Post Moderns
At the Stars

The real problem with their popularity is that Ezra wasn't all that good to begin with. ;)

On a serious note, I've got both Deluxe and Friction, Baby and still play them regularly. I didn't really care much for their latest single, though.

What do you mean not 'that good' you fvcking bastard I am going to gut you and have your brain for breakfast or what you think it's cool to hate BTE? You probably do not know anything about them and just hate their music because you are not a musci major and not a musician and you do not know anything about music. {Please read the Dave MB thread in order to comprehend what you just read}

Serious Note:

I do not know about talent I thought they were pretty good, however they never really got "huge". Oh well.

I know the name but can't place a song with them. Is there a definitive album I could check out?

Clam down. He just gave his honest opinion. he never said it was cool to hate BTE, so shut up about the trend of being cool to hate bands. Anyways...I bought Deluxe years ago and it was an OK album. the song "good" did hit it kind of big. They were never huge, but I do remember hearing it on the radio everyday. I didn't care for Friction, Baby. i didn't even bother with their last album.

I'm only familiar with "Good" I thought it was a fairly decent song. In fact it's one of the songs that reminds me of the music of the middle 90's. I'm more of a RATM, RHCP and Stabbing Westward type of music fan.

I'm about to do that right now. If I like it I'm then going to do the columbia house thing, if I don't like it it's going to be the delete thing.

I have played the violin for 13 years. Written music myself. Done more than 99% of music fans out there and I think that Better than Ezra is just a typical crap band out there. They offer nothing original. They have done nothing original. They have broken no new ground. They are rehashes of what has been done in the past. They are the same as 95% of the crappy bands(music) that came out of the 90's.

Of course, the great thing about music is that the beauty is in the ear of the listener. I just think that if you look at their music as music then you can't tell me they have done anything special. Limp Bizkit is very popular but musically is pathetic. Wes Borland is talented but the music is horrible is you look at the depths of it.

I personally listen to a wide variety of music from Classical to thrash metal. Most music is nothing special. I can only think of a few bands that I would actually want to put in the same page of music when compared to Mozart and Bach.

BTW I haven't read the DMB thread but here is my thought on them. They are talented musicians but I personally hate their music. Their music takes talent but it just doesn't appeal to me. I think that Better than Ezra sucks musically AND I don't like it :)

Excellent taste Red, but it sucks that 2 out of the 3 bands you like have broken up. Stabbing Westward was pretty good inconcert btw. BTE is way mellowed out compared to those bands.

Actually I just like that type of high energy music. What I find sad is a band that was once hot just going through the motions. I'd prefer them to break up than just hang around stinking up the place (not that RATM or Stabbing Westward was doing that)

Yep good point. Nothing like leaving while you're on top rather than leaving when no one remembers who you were.

You're missing a few

Hung on the Moon (my favorite) - Friction Baby
Summerhouse - Deluxe
The Killer Inside - Deluxe
Cry in the Sun - Deluxe

I still remember the SNL Weekend Update about them a while back.

"On college campuses last year, the number one band was Better than Ezra. The number two band was Ezra."
