Better quallity?

Was wondering i got a Dell 20" LCD monitor but the quality of the picture seems to be umm normal....when i put my computer on my 32" LCD t.v via HDMI cable the images are much more defined. I have my monitor hooked up to my computer via a normal cable...the blue one. Is there a diffrance in quality if i switch to DVI cable from my monitor to computer?

HDMI and DVI-D use the same signal. VGA / D-Sub is analog signal and slightly lower quality

Make sure you're running the Dell at its native resolution, and not upscaling from something like 640x480.

ok so the cable im using is a VGA...wich means i should buy a DVI-D cab;e from my monitor to my card instead of the adaptor that ii have now that adapts my VGA to a dvi port. Would increase my quality?

how do i confirm this? im running at the resolution my com recommends i run it at.

That's probably the native resolution then. But you can always check the specs of your monitor online to confirm the res is the same as what you're using

Singlelink for 1920*1200 or below and duallink for above.

ok so my resolution is 1680x1050 then i should get a single correct? Would it really matter if i got a dual? Only reason i ask is i can get 2 DVI-D dual links cables for 10 bucks....

Just get whatever is cheap and handy in this case.

TVs generally display much better IQ colors and Contrast than do desktop monitors until you get into the high end expensive desktop monitor market.

^ this is a pretty good statement. The image quality is much more affected by the quality of the screen than by the signal. The signal will affect the image slightly but there's no comparison between a high quality panel and a low quality panel.
