Better performance from onboard SATA RAID or from a 3ware Escalade PCI RAID Card???

Would I see better performance from my Asus P4C800-Deluxe Onboard SATA Raid or from a 3ware Escalade card?

The reason I ask is I have both of these options available to me but am not sure if I should use the onboard and sell the 3ware card or if it would be better to use the 3ware. It seems to me that the 3ware should be a bit better given that its a $300-400 card but i might be wrong!
