which one of these memories are best for overclocking. I have an XP2100+ and want to push it to at least 180fsb and more if I can. I was going to get Crucial but read that the 512 PC2700 doesn;t work with nForce2 boards.

So its either Samsung or HyperX i guess cause Corsair is to expensive.

Hello

I got a Friend who ordered the Original Samsung PC2700 stick. His can overclock to DDR 400+ speeds but his timings are 2.5/3/3/7.

I got myself Kingstop HyperX PC3000 stick. I was able to run it to DDR 360 @ 2/2/2/6. (ofcourse, thats lower than the rated speeds but my intel mobo wont go any higher). I have a nforce2 board on the way now for my amd setup and will be testing it tomorrow.

between the two, i know that the Samsung wont do DDR 370 @ 2/2/2/6 since my friend tried that and he got BSODs. So i think that HyperX stuff is slightly better but since i have not fully tested my HyperX memory, i can only confirm it after testing it throughly.

I had Samsung DDR 333... It was a completely worthless overclocker.

Hyper-X will no doubt be better... IMO.

I have a stick of the kingston, I have it running rock stable @200 right now @2.46v. I know my 8rda is limiting me right now because I've memtested it on my old 8k3a before @215 2.5v and it was fine.

I was running a Samsung PC2700 CB0 256 Mb module @ 400 Mhz Cas 2.5 & 2.7 volts.

Now I'm running a hyperx pc3000 512mb module at 2-3-3-6 @ 404 Mhz (202 DDR) & 2.6 volts on my Epox SIS P4 MB.

So I'd have to say they the hyperx PC3000 is better.

These number are with 100% stability of course.

I have several sticks of Samsung.

(2) PC2700/128mb sticks that will do 190MHz 2.5-3-3-6 @2.63v

(1) PC2700/256mb stick that will do 185MHz+ 2.5-3-3-6 @2.77v
These are DTM Samsung PCB origional with CB3 chips.

(1) PC2700/256mb stick that will do 190MHz+ 2.5-3-3-6 @2.77v (maybe 200MHz never played with it that much ) this chip is on the CTL Samsung PCB with A01 (i think) Chips which are overclocked for PC2700 by spec. This one will do agressive 2.0-2-2-5 timmings higher than the others

I've got a pair of original Samsung PC2700 256mb that's running at 200Mhz(2-3-3-5@2.6v). I bought them when I was in Korea for a biz trip ($35/each).

isn't the HyperX PC3000 running with Winbond 6ns chips? these are great overclockers, by many accounts;). . .
