better displays, standalone lcd or laptop?

I am working on a navigation system for a friends boat. I am considering either a SFF system with 2 lcd's or a laptop.


Hardware does not need to be best of the best, display is what matters here. For dual displays the software does require 2 video cards. He would realy like to use a laptop. If only I could find a laptop with dual video cards.


So my big question is, where am I going to find the best display for daytime with heavy sunlight conditions? Laptop or stand alone lcd?
